Bedrock Seed Bank Bedrock Seed Bank is an Alberta company growing and providing plant and seed products since 1993. When we have multiplied our seed stocks at the growing plots, the resulting seed is used to provide started plants to homeowners, contractors, landscapers and municipalities or sold as seed packages through this site. Open-pollinated propagation means the plant or seed will reflect the genetic diversity of the species, and seeds can be saved from the resulting plants. Seed collecting adventures in Western Canada, along with trading with other growers and collectors, have yielded the 'originator' seed stocks for many of the species we grow. Others have come from botanical gardens, and like-minded small seed companies in Canada and around the world. The seeds listed on this site have been grown at our plots outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Each package comes with seed count, scientific name and growing instruction. There is growing interest among gardeners and landscapers for using indigenous plants. Low maintenance, minimal water needs, the diversity of life they support, superior carbon sequestration and the fact that they simply belong here, have all contributed to their increased appeal.
