VERONICA FRUTICANS:
This species of Rock Speedwell is ideal for rock walls and of course the
rockery. Growing to 10 cm (4”)
tall, the woody stems produce an abundance of tiny deep blue saucer-shaped
flowers in late May into July. With
good snow coverage, plants will act as an evergreen – don’t trim the foliage
until the spring. Will form a tiny
colony over time. Seeds should be
moist stratified for 3-4 weeks prior to starting inside in April. Cover the seeds with just a light dusting of soil and keep
warm and moist until germination occurs. Needs
full sun with gritty or well-drained soils to thrive.
