TEASEL:  Also known as Fuller’s Teasel, this striking specimen can reach heights of 2m or more in the second summer.  Grown for its interesting comb-like flower heads, this species tends to be aggressive if left unchecked.  Best to harvest the flower heads before the seeds mature.  The entire plant is covered in thorns and I describe it as simply ‘evil’.  Be extremely cautious when weeding or harvesting this plant – it has drawn blood on more than one occasion.  Seeds can be sown direct in late fall or early spring.  Cover the seeds with 1 cm of soil.  Full sun and fertile soils work best, but probably any soil type will suffice.  60 seeds.    P506
