ORIENTAL POPPY:
Our
selection contains a number of different varieties of this popular flower.
Blooms can measure 10-15 cm across in colours of red, salmon and orange.
Full sun and rich well-drained soils suit this species best.
Flowers
appear in July and last only for a few weeks, but put on an amazing display.
Seeds can be sown direct in late fall, early spring.
We have had the best results by starting the seeds outside in April/May
in containers, when the nights are still cold and then carefully transplanting
the seedlings. Minimal root
disturbance is advisable. Cover the
seeds with .5 cm of soil and keep moist until germination occurs. 60
seeds. P605
