LYCHNIS SIEBOLDII:  This beautiful but uncommon species produces large deep red flowers in June and July on deep green foliage that has red highlights.  The flower buds are also red, making the entire plant very attractive.  Grows 40-60 cm tall and prefers sun and average soils.  Seeds can be sown in late fall, early spring or started indoors in April to be transplanted out.  Cover the seeds with .5 cm of soil.  Plants should be cut back after flowering as they usually go dormant by late August.  60 seeds.   P595
