
GREATER BELL FLOWER: This spectacular flower has large 6 cm deep purple star-shaped flowers arranged on a large spike. Can be started indoors in April or direct seeded in early May. A few may choose to bloom the first summer, but usually not till year two. Full sun and average soil is best for this species. As with most Campanula species, the Greater Bell Flower can be aggressive and should be placed with plants of similar natures. Removal of flower heads will eliminate most of the spreading.
