CLEMATIS INTEGRIFOLIA:  This non-climbing or ‘ground Clematis’ grows only 40 cm tall with upright stems on which nodding blue/purple flowers appear in June through early August.  Foliage is dark green and maintains its color  through the season.  Ideal for the rock garden, this species prefers the sun and average soils.  Difficult to germinate.  Seeds need to be moist stratified for 5-6 weeks prior to starting indoors, then a period of 3-4 weeks of warm followed by a period of cool temperatures in order to germinate.  Cover the seeds with 1 cm of soil.  Usually blooms the second season and is very hardy in our growing plots.  40 seeds.    P473
