Cephalaria:  Also listed as C. uralenis, this imposing species grows to 2m+ with soft yellow pincushion-like flowers on multi-branched, wiry stems.  The deep green leaves occur close to the ground – the stems have no leaves.  Useful with tall clumping grasses, or as a backdrop to species such as Delphiniums and Foxgloves.  Blooms generally occur in July.  Seeds should be started in containers in April/May – cover the seeds with .5-1 cm of soil and keep warm and moist until germination occurs.  Prefers a sunny, well-drained site.  40 seeds.    P468
