CAMPANULA
PYRAMIDALIS:
This is the tallest of Bellflowers
that we grow and is sometimes called the Chimney Bellflower.
Reaching 2 m or more, the flowers are borne on tall slender spikes that
appear in late summer into fall. Preferring
sun and good soils, this species is ideal for the back border or as a statement
plant. Most of the leaves are concentrated in a rosette near the
base of the plant. Seeds should be
started in containers in early April/May to be transplanted out. Cover the seeds with .5 cm of soil and keep warm and moist
until germination occurs. 40 seeds. P459
