ASPEN SUNFLOWER:  Although not a true sunflower, this close relative produces multiple yellow sunflower-like blooms in early summer on plants that reach 90 cm.  All other species of perennial sunflower we grow bloom late in the season, making this a great addition to the summer bed.  Full sun and well-drained soil is a must.  Seeds can be sown direct in late fall, early spring of started in containers in April/May after a 3-4 week moist stratification period.  Cover the seeds with .5 cm of soil and keep moist.  60 seeds.    P543
