TUFTED HAIR GRASS:
This
native clumping grass is equally at home in full sun or semi-shade conditions.
Growing 60-70 cm tall it produces very fine silvery-green seed heads in
June and changes color
to tan and gold as it matures.
Seeds can be sown direct in late fall, early spring or started in
containers in April and transplanted out.
Cover the seeds with .5 cm of soil and keep moist.
Once common in the Edmonton area, it has disappeared from much of its
former habitat.
