GIANT WILD RYE: This is the tallest grass we grow - over 2.5 m or 8'. Native to the southwest corner of Alberta and into the States, it is a clumping grass with broad leaves. Used as a specimen plant or as the centre in a large flower bed, this plant will certainly attract attention. Seeds can be sown direct in late fall or early spring, or started in cell containers in mid April. Cover the seeds with 1 cm of soil and keep moist. Takes two years to reach maturity - full sun and average moisture with good soil is best.   40 seeds.    NG 944
