NIGELLA:
One of two species we grow, it differs from the
more common Nigella in having elongated rather than round seedpods plus the
flowers are a deep blue/purple. Seed
pods are excellent for drying in the fall.
Foliage is lacy in appearance and medium green in color.
Seeds can be direct sown in late April or started indoors in containers
for transplanting out. Cover the seeds with .5 cm of soil. Will self-seed. Prefers
a sunny site with average soils and moisture.
