LOVE-LIES-BLEEDING: This
interesting and beautiful plant is related to grain amaranth.
I like to start mine indoors in April and transplant to a full sun or a
slightly shaded area of the garden. Cover
the seeds with .5 cm of soil and keep moist
and warm for best
germination. The plants do well in
average to good soil and require plenty of water to attain the 130 cm or more
heights. Long trailing red 'ropes'
that are spectacular fresh or dried, appear in late summer.
