
ANNUAL LINARIA: A non-aggressive wild relative to snapdragons, this
species hails from North Africa This
species forms mounds of tiny blossoms in colours of pink, yellow and violet with
some mixed colour schemes. Flowers
last until a hard frost in the fall. The
plants grow to 30 cm tall and are useful in borders or containers and as cut
flowers. They do well in ordinary
soil but like full sun and cooler temperatures.
Sow outdoors as soon as the ground permits or start indoors (germinates
best at about 12 degrees). Seeds
are extremely tiny and should be covered with a fine dusting of soil.
